There is No Home in ChaosA Poem by JessicaThere is no home in chaos, In drifters wandering, My emotions dry like the Sahara, Because I have no more tears, For home is not a place, But an emotional state, A place to feel safe, And I have not felt safe in the longest of years, And I whisper to myself “I want to go home” But there is no home, There is no safe, There is only the eggshells I tread upon, Fearing that one will crack with every step I take, And with that crack an explosion of anger will take its place. And I’m a drifter running in place, With the burden that no place is safe, With no safe haven, Or light to guide my way, With the anxious fear, I curl my toes in fear, Because there is no home in the chaos of anxiety and fear.
