Sound of nothing

Pretending is fairly easy,

I find inspiration in my denial.

I live life, 

creating this pretentious smile.

I don't want to see,

I don't want you to see

Can't you just sit here?

and not question my needs.

I'll avoid the truth,

I'll walk right past you,

I wan't you to pretend,

understand my insanity.

Put the effort in,

just put in the f*****g effort

I want you to hear the silence speak,

speak of the lies,

that are following me inside so deep.

I open my mouth,

only to find the words

I'd like to scream,

aren't coming out.

This is what my life has amounted to,

a sound of nothing,

a person who simply listens to you.
