femme est une femme

femme est une femme

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.
"

love and life sex woman men inspired by hypatia

"
crying child
you watch from the wings
crying child with eyes of amber
woman who don't cry should be banned
nothing more beautiful than a lady in tears

a woman is a woman
a gentleman is a man
This courting love ain't chivalrous
my armour cannot hide who I am

Its a borderline I've crossed
without that clear a thought
its a lucky day I did not want
though in vain was sought

a woman is a woman
a gentleman is a man
This courting love ain't chivalrous
my armour can't hide who I am

I concocted my own remedy
to clear away the dust
they dragged me out of town
with jeers and laughs and lust

the pottery and the mammary
 sweat of haste and fear
The absolution of the sight
skin so hard to carve
their face in  furry light
The player outwit the play
a dreadful clear insight

a woman is a woman
a gentleman is a man
this courtly love ain't chivalrous
my armour cant hide who i am

a wise look in hazed eyes
such a price for brief hope
lay as dead as the stag
so galant,tall and amber
bosom and  soul a camber
lying like the prize
belongs....to none.

crying child
you watch from the wings
crying child...so quiet...
such wisdom in your company
woman who don't cry should be banned
nothing more beautiful than a person in tears
nothing more beautiful than you...

"the pottery and the mammary "
The line played so well. The sound and impact bounce and land with grace. I love how this poem portrays the feminine perspective, but it is not weak. It is fearful and resentful.

This is wonderful poem and the use of the word ''aint'' in ''this courtly love ain't chivalrous'' brings almost bitter tone, and foresahdowing of her eventual demise. Also, fantastic beat.... Overall, wonderful piece Xx
