Selkie.A Poem by Lady Lazarus.about those who walk around us looking for something else....Or So it seems from watching. Benumb crucial signs of solemn origin words you lisp my rose liped cherubian the babe smiles and somewhere inside somewhere inside somewhere somehow my piano plays a note to see you go. Frantic intolerance to this shroud that keeps us groans the strings groans the strings they'll snap and make such a sound to quake my very chest I shall throw the sap from my fins and awkwardly dance on the bow of a chant it dulls my sense so often rarely done... eyes that fill with every still get smaller every day we search down these inhabitiated dwellings for a fleece to keep us Panza and Quixote in a struggle a quest we've been walking since our souls developed in our feet; OVER OVER OVER FORWARD… over the front Into featureless land A cautious smile of a kindly man Took in hand and calmed at last Took in hand to bring back the past
Touched upon a world so brief Adorned with a frivolous yearning Felt fingers intwined in mine sane and broken I'll watch you go.... groans the strings.Groans the strings. I drift away as silence rings. you cannot catch her.
