starry starry night

starry starry night

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.

Aura of orange, the warnings past

The rain not yet smashed against the glass

Adorn me with equality

Avoiding the chaos so settled

While I have breath

I still have hope

And that is all really

On indigo morning

The one I adore

Sleeps among the treasured shore

A starry starry night cut off at the ear

A starry starry night of honeyed tears

These markings given at birth

They taunt me every day

Ritualistic integration

Over what I try to say

A foreboding I cant displace

Although I know I have attempted

A chrysalis to shelter within before burning wings so tempted

On indigo morning

The one I adore

Sleeps among the treasured shore

A starry starry night cut off at the ear

A starry starry night of honeyed tears

I give what was a secret

Though it never is enough

I try to hede the warnings

Of giving into love

On indigo morning

The one I adore

Sleeps among the treasured shore

A starry starry night cut off at the ear

A starry starry night of honeyed tears

You kept me from myself

I gave what I could render

you keep me from myself....

I wish I could surrender

While I have breath

I still have hope

And that is all really..

Again, I am taken by your artistic flair with words, All I can say is poetry should be like this.. it is like this, well done.

Very well written. I can almost hear this put to music. Your references to Van Gogh and Don McLean's song in conjunction to the how much of yourself you are willing to commit and that as long as you live (which Van Gogh forsake for love) you have hope. Good imagery.
