Blanche DuBois

Blanche DuBois

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.

The fire of human desperation burns without remorse

It will continue after as everything takes its course

she shall sit outside among the weeds effortlessly debonair

hunched back and hunched future with no perception to spare

If I feel like asking I could'nt really say...

cotton wool in ears that choose not to hear

it won't surprise me if the sylables falter on your tongue

you see a creature so misguided ,so young

These are hand me down shoes I can never fill

I can't stop moving but my mind lies still

If I feel like asking I couldn't really say...

cotton wool in ears that choose not to hear

I see with eyes that belong to a person I do not know

the camera is erratic but the film is slow

i lie and yet I grow so tired

dreaming dreams i hope transpire

If I feel like asking I could'nt really say...

cotton wool in ears that choose not to hear

Nice work. It had a certain amount of flow that made it rather much enchanting. I really like this.

I like this a lot. It felt like a dream and the phrase "cotton wool in ears that choose not to hear" always brought me back to reality. I found my favorite line of 2009 so far : hunched back and hunched future with no perception to spare. Amazing. Thanks for posting this.
