Modern Boy Modern Girl

Modern Boy Modern Girl

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.

admired from a distance with quiet subtlety
sibyl watched the boy to retain her sanity
She chats with herself so she doesn't feel alone
The boys and girls procreate whilst she lies in bed alone..

never sure who is who
shades and tone obscure the hue
blade of grass pulled down by dew
need to do what the b******s tell you to

Dorian was a boy whose passion was too big for his heart to hold
when he was twenty odd he suddenly turned so old
one side of his body lost all of its feeling
He sits in the job centre counting the gum on the ceiling

never sure who is who
shades and tone obscure the hue
blade of grass pulled down by dew
need to do what the b******s tell you to

eyes glance into one another in the cue for medicine
It ought to make you laugh how these things begin
dorian and siybl disapeared that night
They might be gone but things will be alright.

Modern and modern girl not burdened at all
modern girl and modern boy we won't listen when you call.

The rhyming is so fluid, its hard to believe one can still make words rhyme like that. Great diction too. I love the first stanza.
