You can see me.

You can see me.

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.

I am learning by my own hands

consoled when I feel no good

I've found out they can do what I can't

I don't listen even if I should

unable to fathom what I was born to accomplish

cannot be human but what else matters?

faces are reduced to masks but my own is shawdy

I hate this this face.I hate this mind.I hate this body.

Mother I'm never going to make you pleased

unless I find a way to outrun my disease

looking at the flex of blood under my wrist

I'm going to live and f**k am I gonna exist.

Jessica fighting Jessica with no clear winner

well at this life thing I guess I'm just a beginner

you can see me even if I wish you were blind

I've not seen myself for a very long time

I never know if I'll be like all of you

but then again why would I want to?

I loved these last two lines. I find myself saying the same thing over and over. I've often been referred to as strange and weird. That used to offend me, or at least depress me a bit, but it matters less now. I learned I don't want to be a member of the faceless masses, herded like sheep. I love the message of self reliance in this poem. I liked it!
