Daddys Home.

Daddys Home.

A Poem by Jessie

A little girl sits patiently under the front
porch light, starring down the road for the
old timer to come into sight.
She waits every day and knows exactly
when.. that O' pick-em up truck will be
coming around the bin.
She hears its loud engine just as it putts
over the hill. Everyday, same time, like she
knows it will.
She runs to the end of the gate to meet the
old machine and with a huge smile you can't
help but see that gleam.
As the truck slows to pull up the way, she
sees her daddy and stares in dismay Then
she knows, O' yes! her daddys home to stay!
and to this little girl it's her favorite time of
the day!

                                  Daddys home...

Wonderful little poem. I imagine there must be some experience that goes along with it? You've captured the heart of a child well. I can remember when I was small hiding in the back seat so my father would have to take me to work with him. It never worked though. HAHA Good poem!

This is such a sweet sweet read. It reminds me of a song 'Daddy's home' :) When I came across this title, I just clicked on and read. But the moment I started to read, I simply forgot what was the title about because of the little girl in your story. Until I read to the end, it just made me smile, catching the feeling the little girl had.

Smooth and beautiful write. Thank you for sharing :)
