School

        Although I had problems leaving Edith-Lynn with James I had to go to school. I have learned it all before but I had to keep up the image until SHE was off my back. My science paper was due but I never got it done so James did it for me.

 

First hour was horrible and every one asked where James and I have been. Then Mrs. Jones decided to give a pop quiz in fourth hour even though (as she though) I wasn’t there to learn it. I aced the test she looked amazed when I handed my work in after only twenty minutes. (The first one in too.) Just after I had walked out Elise comes running after me.

 

Then in PE Mr. Moss thought it would be funny to have the whole team play against me in dodge ball. My advantage was that there where only three other super naturals in the PE class. Low grade witches with no bloomed powers yet and my coach who is a vamp. I made those balls move so fast the coach almost fainted.

 

I got an ear full from my coach after about how I wasn’t suppose to use my powers in class. Just teachers talking all day about how I should keep school in mind and all that junk. I was ready to kill some people when James called me at lunch.

 

“Hello beautiful how is your day so far?” A voice that melted me like butter.

 

“Fine but I was ready to kill Mrs. Koe`al in Spanish today. She loves to talk to me in the only language I don’t know.” His voice always helps me chill out.

 

“Well if you want I’ll come and pick you up 7th hour love.” We have no tests so… “Sure I’ll wait out at the back doors, I love you James.

 

Sixth hour wasn’t that bad with History my thing it was a piece of cake. But when that bell rang I ran to the back and escaped that land of torture. Luckily James was waiting for me with Edith-Lynn.

 

“Hello love how was your day.” The face of stone knowing the answer two seconds after asking. I turned around to see my beautiful baby smiling at me with her beautiful eyes.

 

“How is my beautiful baby.” She tried to say something but it was too hard to understand.

 

“She said that her mommy is just as pretty.” My eyes jumped over to the driver seat and James just stared out the windshield.

 

“How do you that she said that?” His face went from stone to almost bursting out laughing. 

 

“Well while you were at school today I started to talk to her and she put the words in my head. She made a noise and then I heard it she said dada!”

 

Why couldn’t I hear my own child’s thoughts I had the powers too… didn’t I? When James pulled up to the drive way when I heard it. A small noise then words at first I thought it was a neighbor girl but she said mama. Her bright blue eyes lit up when I knew it was here talking.

 

“Well it looks like mommy can hear you too!” she gurgled and said… “Mommy I’m hungry can daddy take me to eat?”

 

She was so little but so smart and developed.

 

“Sure but James has she had a bath today?” he looked dumbfounded but answered.

 

“No I was going to give her one when you called.”

 

We walked in and found a note on the door. James grabbed it and walked in to the kitchen.

 

“James I’m going to give Edith-Lynn a bath okay?” he didn’t reply so I let the bath run as I walked down to see what was wrong with James. As I walked downstairs I heard the angry cries of my child in her bed.

 

James was in the kitchen holding the note from the front door. The anger that was on his face was hidden when I entered the room.

 

“James what does the note say?” He turned and handed me the note that was crumbled from his tight grip. I say the signature on the bottom was HERS. It was written quick and with rage.

 

Dear Samantha,

 

      I don’t know who that child was that was at the house but it is surly not your child.You would never break the rules Of the High Council. You should not talk to your mother like that ever again! I don’t know what that boy has put in put head but you are coming home TONIGHT! If anyone gets in my way they will be knocked aside. Be ready or I’ll find you.

 The paper fell from my hands as my astonishment set in. In a moment it all flashed by James running up stairs and Edith-Lynn’s horrified screams stopped my thoughts abruptly. My instinct kicked in at the moment the blood-curtailing scream escaped her mouth. My feet ran as fasts as my muscles could handle and my mind didn’t even stop a second for anything to register.

 

As I entered my daughter’s room all I could see is two figures over my screaming child. Edith-Lynn had her hands up immobilizing either of them from touching her.

 

  “Maredith this thing isn’t your daughter tell this crazed boy of yours.” She eyes where milky like an animal with rabies.

 

  “Maredith I came up here when I heard her,” he eyed HER. “Come through the window and she was trying to grab Edith-Lynn and run.”

 

I was to shocked by HER actions that I almost didn’t hear HER say…. “I want her gone so you can come home and be with me and not that vampire and its rule breaking spawn or else.”

 

James face was blank trying to read what I was going to do next. So I did what any offended mother lion would do I beat HER down.

 

HER face was shocked as I jumped on HER. With my hands around her I threw HER out the window she came in from, she smacked in to a tree and it snapped in half. She sprang to her feet and came after me like a crazed demon. She clawed at me and for the first time in my eternal life she transformed in to the monster she was inside.

 

Her hideous face looked as if she wanted to kill me but I knew her intent she wanted my daughter! She jumped for the window. I looked on in horror, I hoped and prayed her vision would blur and she would miss the window. Then out of the blue she was slammed in to the ground and was stuck.

 

At first I though it was James but there was no sign of any life by her just her raspy breathing. Then it hit me I had thrown her in to the ground to protect my child. So I focused and picked her up and slammed in to the ground again this time so hard she made a hissing sound.

 

Finally from the window James flew. He restrained me so I couldn’t attack HER anymore. She stood and James and I jumped for the window and from behind I heard… “I’ll be back and I’ll bring others that object of this evil spawn! As the leader of the Members of the Night I now declare you as the new enemy. ” She said in a raspy voice. I looked to James and his face looked grim, he was thinking the same thing as me. More demons.
