Midnight Run

“Mom I’m home.” I yelled when I walked in to the house. She used her speed to run to the door and grab me then smell me.

 

“You smell as if you have been with an certain person.” I HATE HER SCENCE OF SMELL all demons can smell vampire from a mile away.

 

 “I was with James and then I went over to Elise’s house about 8:30.”

 

“So you expect to think you just left James after not seeing him for three

and a halve months. I’m not that stupid Sam.” She said that I knew I should just go to “bed”.

 

 “Ok mom lay off can I go to bed I an so tired.” I asked in a tired tone. “Sure go but we will talk later ok Hun?’’

“Sure” I walked slowly up the stairs. Like I was tired am never tired because I don’t sleep much ever.

 

As I start to get tired I hear a soft knock on my window. “Ready to hit Vegas baby” James jokes as he carries me down from the two story window then run us both to his car five blocks away.

 

 “So really where are we going James?” when we get into his car.

 

 “We are going to meet the jeweler that will size your for you so you can wear it when we tell your mom.” He says with a smile.

 

 “Ok but can we stop at your house I forgot my purse there and my school bag?”

 

 “Sure babe but the jeweler is coming to my house at 4:30.”

 

 “But it is only 12:00……….Ohh.” I said stupidly

 

“Yes so would you like to see the other rooms?” he said with that sexy voice that stopped my crying earlier.

 

“Well ok so when we get to the last room I have something for you.” Before I left I taped in to my moms closet and got my 18th graduation present. Mom finally got sense that I don’t do baby presents and more grown-up outfits.

 

“Ok  James  we are here lets go see the rest of the house.” I said when we pulled into the drive way.

 

 “Ok so what about this surprise u have for me can I see it now?” He spoke with his eyes to mine.

 

 “No not until we finish the tour of the house.” Then he picked me up and carried me to the front doors.

 

“James I love you so much.”

 

 “I love you to Maredith.” He put me down at the grand stair case and then guided me to the first room on our tour of the house. The room was almost as big as James room and looked almost the same but with a kid twist.

 

“James oh may god is this your way of saying something?” I ask in astonishment.

 

 “Maredith I want to have kids no matter what other people think.” I hadn’t noticed but I had started to cry.

 

 “Maredith are you okay?” he was holding me up so I didn’t fall.

 

 “Yes I am just so amazed you think like me so much.” He looked into my eyes with the kindest look I have ever seen.

 

“Its because we are destine to be together and to spend our life together.”

 

When we got to the room I went to the bathroom and put on the light blue see through nightgown from my mom.

 

 “James what time is it?” I asked to get him to turn around. He had been looking for his phone in his in the dresser.

 

 “ well its WOW!” he had turned to face me and then dropped his phone on the floor.

 

“So you like it?” but this time he had me on the bed and was kissing me.

 

 “Maredith it doesn’t matter what you wear you are beautiful. But you look pretty sexy in this.’’ We must have lost track of time because the doorbell rang and James didn’t even let go of me to get up.

 

 “James I cant go and meet the ring guy looking like this.”

 

“I know that’s why I am taking you to the closet for your surprise I got for you.” He opened the door to the closet that had been fully stocked with new outfits for me.

 

 “OH James you didn’t have to do this.” His face looked like he had something to say but couldn’t say it.

 

 “James I think the ring seizer is getting mad.” The door bell rang five times before James ran down stairs.

First off, I admire anyone who has the patience to write a story, even a chapter; I tried my hand at it a few times, but felt more at ease with poetry. Upon reading, though, I see that there is a LOT of dialogue here. Perhaps if there was a balance between the dialogue and story? I am in NO way an expert, but I was thinking as an example: "No, not until we finish the tour of the house." He picked me up and carried me to the door, and I couldn't help but wonder if this was his way of telling me something.///See how it all remained but with both actual talking and then a little narration?
