Three Fascinations

Three Fascinations

A Poem by Jessica Jean

Fascination will forever remain
With love, death, and dreams
Love is eternal and is craved
By every human being
They think they need it to survive
To inspire, and to live
But love is simply love-
You should accept it as it is:
A finite, purposed thing
Though seemingly immortal
But if you understand the contradiction
Then you understand the moral

Death will always be the phantom
The teacher and the end all
Because he closes our time in this world
Whether we think we've finished at all
He will always be the haunter
Of our ever wakened musings
He sits in the back of the minds of all
And finds it all too amusing
Sitting in his dark chair
He cannot only move
Until the moment arrives
When he gets up
To snatch the life from you

And dreams! they be the paradise
The sanctuary and the asylum
To contain our savage, wanting minds
To give us new scenes to try on
They will always be the link
To magic, insanity, and lust
In dreams I know that I
Myself
Can find the only stranger I trust

These three will forever remain
And will outlast all things
Love- a necessity
Death- a destiny
And dreams- the only friend I see

This is an old one of mine, but I always thought it was pretty good.

It's happenstance you choose these three entities to entice your curiosity.
They reside very close to one another, believe it or not.

Two be cousins, and one their language.

Lovely.
