Holding Your Hand

Holding Your Hand

A Poem by Jessica Jean

In my finger valleys
Land is bare
No pines or lilies
Ever grow there

The wind blows cold
Chilling the ground
Drying it up
Nothing's the sound

But you give me the rain
You give me the heat
Every time
Our valleys meet

The flowers grow
Not just on my fingers
But the scent flows up
To my lips and lingers

A river forms
From your valley to mine
Swift and blue
Unstoppable but blind

And overgrown
It seeks its beauty
In outlet of our
Lips and bodies

Through valley fingers
We are one
Crafting our own land
By hands, it is won

You've given a glimpse into the heart of everyone who has ever felt in love. It's a great description of that heady, new exhilaration that we all can relate to. Wonderful imagery!

ahaha thank you! :D
I really loved your use of imagery. :) It reminded me of the first time I held hands with this one boy... This is great because it really shows how much of a connection it is even though it's a simple action. This is very good!
