"

It's about a clutz finding love. Kinda funny, but also serious. (Let's face it: I'm not good at commedy.)

"

Yumi. A normal name. A normal girl. A normal life. Looking for a normal guy.

Negi. A normal guy. Not so normal name. Wants a girlfriend.

A normal day at school...

Books fell in a clatter to the ground as the teen's body went flying across the room. No one really cared, but did help her up afterwards.

"Yumi," a pigtailed girl laughed, "you clutz. This is the thrid time this week you've tripped over that same tile! When will you learn it's there?"

Long light brown hair sat in her hands as she held her head, she replied, "I could have swore it was the fourth..."

"Nope. The first was in the hallway, Silly."

"What's silly is it's only Monday!"

Both girls laughed at the clumsyness of the first girl, then Yumi stood up and finally found her seat.

After homeroom and math, the girl was in the caffeteria with her friends again, realizing she forgot her lunch and getting up to buy some bread to eat. She stood in line for a minute, slowly watching it get shorter and shorter, when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

She jumped. Falling into the guy infront of her, who narilly missed falling on the girl infront of him himslef.

"Goodness! Watch where you're going! I could have hurt him!"

"With it being you," the older boy responded, "I'd be more worried about you being hurt."

The boy behind her only stood in shock, "Well, umm," he began, "I was wondering if I could ask you something. In private, if you don't mind. It's rather urgant."

"Oh," Yumi smiled, "Hi, Negi. I'm sorry I yelled. What is it?"

"Can I ask you in private?"

"Sure."

Negi was a short guy, but a wrestler and pretty good at it. On top of that, he was fifth in his class (which was also aYumi's). He was quiet in school and loud at sports events, with short black hair and frameless glasses covering his brown eyes. And with those brown eyes he looked at Yumi (being the same height, it wasn't up or down) and spoke, "Well, Yumi, as you know I've been single for a while. Ever since my middle school girlfriend broke it off with me. We've been friends for a long time, but we're juniors now and I thing it's a good time to bring it a little farther. So I was wondering if you would accept my feelings for you and consider going on a date."

Yumi began to giggle, "Aren't girls supposed to profess their love in private?"

The boy blushed, "Well, I'm shy. You know that."

"You're right," Yumi answered with a smile, "And I think you're going against yourself like that was brave. But I'm sorry, I don't want to risk the great friendship we have over this. Please realize that I think you're couargeous, but I will have to say no."
