A Writer's Death

A Writer's Death

A Poem by jessicawrites
"

A draft

"

A writer dies when he does not write.

No matter his background  - a mason, an artist, an engineer,

A writer dies when he does not write.

When he is lost in labor and duty and meals and prayers,

And pleasure and pain and the mundanities of every day,

When he is reduced to but his occupation and his family,

His richness and poverty,

A writer dies when he does not write.
