Tinder

A Poem by jessicawrites
"

Swiping my way to romance

"
My finger sweeps through the screen,
Thousands of people I haven't seen,
Flashes at once in a glean.
I know what you might think of me,
But I'm the modern prince, you see.
I swipe left and I swipe right,
Hoping to find my Mrs. Right.
My eyes rests on a beauty,
Wearing a red dress so carelessly,
That I effortlessly fell in love,
Or was it love? What is love?
Has love been contained,
In a series of swipes, I feign-
I feign affection because,
Love in the modern age is lost.
Love has been equated,
To one-night stands, I stated-
That no one-night has ever been
One-night true love yet unseen.
I swipe again, and I swipe left.
Not because I'm blind or deaf-
To the woman's blinding beauty,
But because I want love truly.
Beep, beep.
One message received.

In a era when online dating, and the use of dating apps are normal in society, how can we ever be sure of what real love is? That is a question that comes to mind when I read this poem. Tinder is a famous dating app, but if also filled with scammers and catfishers as well so how do we know that we aren't in love with a fake person? All questions that came into my mind as I read your poem. Thanks for sharing, I found it to be quite enjoyable, and truthful too!
