Little Girl

Little Girl

As the daylight enters the small holes of the room, flashbacks came coming back- times when I was running along the shore, playing with my dolls... I was a happy kid, I could have never thought everything could change.
The last demonic flame faded, just like the whole village that used to own the place. Corpses lies everywhere. It's hard to see who they are with their burnt bodies and distorted faces, but I know that at least one of them is someone I know. Perhaps a friend, or maybe the people I call "family".
I was really optimistic then, I assured myself that they are alive. It made sense to me, if a little girl can survive the fire, how can the adults not?
But I was wrong. Truly wrong. Weeks passed and I still didn't see even a trace of their lives. I only survived through the donations from the generous people.
"Hello, little girl." I remember a man suited black approach me.
I didn't reply. My parents taught me not to talk to people I just met.
"Shy, aren't we?" he grabbed my arm. I struggled to break free, but I was not so fortunate.
***
I open my unknowingly tearing eyes. I just don't want to remember the next happenings anymore.
