Reality check

Reality check

A Poem by Jess Diaz

I have these bruises
You see
They tell a horrifying story
I live in a world that is sad
And quite gory
Consumed with greed and hate
In this world there is no such thing as glory
Wild creatures roaming
A demon that is too controlling
The lives it is slowly losing
With skin still bruising
Polluting the minds of those who walk here
Spread like wildfire
But there will soon be nothing left to shear
I’m not alone here
You see
This world I dwell in
Is the exact same sin
You’re living in

I believe that any piece of writing that really gets someone thinking or that is relate-able is a great piece. You're poem is just that.

We strive to see the bright side in many things but that doesn't change the world for what it truly is. Instead, the little bit of hope some of us carry just changes our perception of it.

This is a truly great poem and the title fits just right, because this poem really is a reality check.

But then again, even the worst things have their own kind of beauty.

Anyway, i really enjoyed this piece. Great write and well done.

This is a black piece and feels as if you are trying to communicate a desolate future with no hope. Very sad but very well portryed.
