I Miss You, Toto

I Miss You, Toto

A Poem by ms. understood

I feel the most alone
In a room full of people who love me
"You'll never be happy"
You're right, mom
I probably won't
Because the one thing that made me happiest in this world was ripped away from me
With my own hands
And now no bone in my body screams with excitement
Nothing will ever compare to the way I felt in your presence
Truth be told
I could never commit to you
Because I knew you would be the man I would want to marry
And I was only 19 at the time
Not ready to experience something so perfect
I didn't want to be the one to ruin you
Even though I did despite thinking I was doing the right thing
I miss you

Thank you for the support!
Why does wisdom come years later.
Was I wise at 19, probably not.
But life is always moving and regrets are still the same.

this is sad

though very human

each word breathes a reality so many of us know

sometimes writing is the only way to truly heal from a difficult time

most welcome
so sad...and remind-ful to me of my high school sweetheart...that part of me that will always feel this way about her...and what i thought was doing the right thing at one time...
later came the regrets.

It is a terrible feeling but we have to keep moving. Thanks!
Very sad little poem, it's always hard living with the choices we make when they end up hurting us or other people in some way, especially when you grew older and you're not the same person you once was for better or worse.

We deal as best and only we can - with the consequences of choices ...ours and others.
