Don't Compete Where You Don't CompareA Poem by ms. understood
The second I fell in love with my loneliness
I felt the need to loathe myself in a shower of shame Uncontrollable thoughts of you with another woman Feeling as though I could never compare With those Latin hips filled with energy And her sweet laughter The kind that welcomes your company Where as I have only ever driven you away And continuously poured my heart Into something that never belonged to me in the first place She doesn’t need anyone to feel complete
Only herself Yet, we both seek comfort in your words at the end of the day To which I’ve never received
And she is the one that is chosen Always attempted happiness with you But you’re a giver
She was the one that took While I played the fool time and again
