You

You

A Poem by Jessica Harmony

You are like my sky, my stars,

Your voice is like a song.

Your face engraved in my heart,

Your eyes so golden brown.

I could write a book about you,

And still not have enough words.

Your smile so bright and perfect,

You are my thoughts, my world.

:) These little glimpses into another person's soul are very nice. However, I am hard pressed to call it a poem. It is really just a beautifully crafted journal entry. I feel that a poem is something that the reader needs to be able to experience as well. You do a lot of telling in this poem which is very difficult for a reader to get into. I love the emotion that you have, I just wanted to be transported and feel that same emotion. You definitely have a gift for putting emotion into words, so I look forward to reading more of your work!! Thank you for sharing!
