of Happiness, of Bliss, of Serenity
To resonate
How is it that while happiness seems to slip through our fingers like sand through an hourglass,
Hate and Sadness and Anger
Coat our skin
Thick and Black
Why is that?
Why do we all feel as if happiness is so unachievable
That we are not worthy, or great enough for it
Yet we can cloak ourselves in the dark clouds
And find that it is justified?
Why must ego rule?
Ego who says:
No, you cannot
No, you must not
No, you aren’t good enough for THAT
I laugh at Ego.
I say
Yes
Yes, I am
I take No and all of its’ black haze and I shut it away in a place no one can see and I tell it Yes
Yes, I can
And when my No is safely shut away
Where no one, not even I can see it,
Then I take my Yes up to the very highest tip of mountaintops and I shout it out so that all over it is heard
I carry my Yes through crowds and let it brush against the coat sleeves of the population
I set my Yes beside me on my pillow while I sleep, and it whispers to my dreams
Yes
You can
And everywhere I go, no matter where I am,
my Yes is heard
and felt
and seen
and loved
My Beautiful, Blissful, Serene
Yes
And even when my Yes is so quiet, it seems like only I can hear it,
there is always one more.
There is one more who feels my Yes as deeply as I do
and that is my No
Every time I say my Yes,
It pierces right through the heart of that pool of No
That Hateful, Sad, Angry
No
And every time my Yes streaks through the No,
the No fades a little
and it grows a little lighter
and it gets a little weaker
and it seems a little less important
And someday very soon
I will be able to unlock the room of No
And I will peer into it and find
that the sinister stalker of No
is not there
And I will open wide the windows
And the doors
And the roof
Of this room
And I will fill it with Yes
And the population will come to see my yes
And at the door they will shed their coats of blackness
And we will celebrate
In the happiness of
Yes.
