Cat

Cat

A Poem by jesserose99
"

about my cousin who passed

"

Words wasted

on this and that

my heart pasted

in the sky with you cat

Your life was gone in a flash

too much of a bad thing and you passed

your life on earth touched so many

your life above is just beginning

You heard me say my life was worthless

when all I wanted was to hurt less

the radio went flat line for long

and on came 'This is your song'

so you told this girl

how wonderful life is with her in the world

to me cousin you are the Cheshire Cat

guiding me this way, loving me that

I know that you are gone

but it was you on the radio playing that song

so I tattoo you into my skin

if I had a brother...you would have been my twin

Yea, death sucks. I admire how you honored his memory with the tattoo.

There's been quite a lot of loss in my life the last few years: my sister, my dad, and my dog. Someone a good deal smarter than me, said that as long as I remember them, they are still alive in my heart. I hope so. I think of them often.

Good write.

What a lovely way to see someone off. Life in any form is precious and should not be under appreciated. It's a great thing that you remember him.

Thanks Clifford!! Always a pleasure
How we keep a memory isn't always important - it's that we DO keep it!... and hence them.

thank you so much
Heartfelt poetry right here! Excellent poem! I feel your pain and I'm extremely sorry for your loss! You make the emotions you feel very vivid. You long to see this person again. You value the people you share connections with and that is what makes a good friend. Translating that to writing makes you a great writer! GREAT JOB from the bottom of my heart, this is excellent! I choose to review this poem as the title was ULTRA appealing for I'm a cat person... a cat person who clicked to read something unexpected, much better than I expected, that touched my heart with the words from your heart! Much love from Chicago IL. - Jason

I enjoyed the poem. Nice tale leading to very good ending.

Those tattoos do have stories upon our skin. Can be warnings to stay or escape? Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry. A poem to honor your cousin memory.
