It must've been the sailor in me that grinned at "other sleep things". I get even crankier than usual when I get poor quality or insufficient sleep, so I hope you rested well. Nice writing, as always.

Sleeplesness, the cruel purveyor of thought overload that taunts and teases with glimpses of almost sleep, before it plugs your brain into the mains, leaving you with thought overload and screaming into your pillow.
I used to read to kids at a local hospice and made up a story for them, that if you close your eyes in bed and repeat "happy night night dreamy sleeps" five times, you got to pivk what you dreamt about. They told me it worked, so it might be worth a try :)
