Page in my book

Page in my book

A Poem by jesserose99
"

forgetting someone who cheated is easier then one thinks

"

You were a page in my book

when I returned to have a look

the memories were stripped bare

still I knew you were there

then you called me on the phone

wanted to talk and you know

reminisce 'bout days gone by

I didn't know and couldn't lie

I let you talk and tell me

all the things that were we

Can't remember s**t

CRS, RSD

I have acronyms yes me

Tell me how important

yes were we

lol, can't you see

I have acronyms yes me

and a traumatic brain injury

So if you want me to remember you

write the words in my book next time

so I can read line for line

how much I should have remembered you

after you cheated

I'm sorry, I can't place you

Oh, crap

maybe I do remember you

True about your description. Your poem is on point, An A..Worst of all, we do not remember the good memories when one cheats, the bad ones linger, how we could feel, sense and see it yet didnt confront. i think the worst thing about being cheated on is that there could have been signs of cheating yet you did nothing or trusted more. You know that gut feeling that something is not right and you ignore it..that is the worst. Worse still that we feel the other person was preferred to you

so true about the worst, especially when you feel more for them and were faithful to them.
every moment many sad and happy pages tearing from our life but we should keep smiling for ever

Sometime words in books. Can haunt us and take us to old places and hurt once again.

I have over 40 journals of writing written over a span of 50 years. Old age make the bad memories become sweeter. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Ah, those rose tinted memories for one. Sometimes looking back on things, you wonder if you were even there when hearing anothers recollections of your time together. I think in this case, the cheater deludes himself by creating an alternative to reality where he doesnt come out of it as a scumbag, leaving the cheated wonder if it was all just a nasty dream. Then you remember it wasnt and feel sorry for his next victim.
brilliantly captured. Nice to see you can still have a sense of humour after all that.
