We Both are a Map

We Both are a Map

A Poem by jesserose99
"

love poem

"

We are topographical maps,

on whom x marks the spot,

where love is a nomadic track

that wanders to our hearts.

Navigation course is laid out,

follow that dotted trace -

the pathway to high mountain tops,

and treasures to embrace.

Should you traverse the curving path,

and brave the intense climb,

you’ll find that you won’t need the map -

the way improves with time.

Right, where my compass? Im off on a treasure hunt. :)
Nine short lines, with words expanding into much more than the sum of their parts, hinting and guiding at the scale of the treasure that awaits.
Beautiful, gorgeous and lots of other deliscious sounding words. Bravo.

A great poetic GPS. No need to recalculate this route, the destination seems to be set nicely.

Nice work.
Seems like a venture for a sultry time.

Short, but not without an intensity, is it?

I think there may be some things to look at in terms of flow but, if I have a sense of the intent of the piece, those would be more technical things and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that over-attention to the technical detracts from some works.

The kind of piece written at a kitchen table some morning while sitting with coffee and remembering the newly past evening... with a very soft smile on the lips and within the eyes.
