Child

Child

A Poem by jesserose99
"

finding my inner child

"

Been looking for my child

for a long, long while

she's happy and she's free

she lives inside of me

She's playing peek-a-boo

so what am I to do

to find her big green eyes

I can no longer criticize

She sensitive you see

to things like 'I hate me'

she just wants to play

child come out today

When she's driving all is new

she smiles when tying shoes

she loves without condition

to live is her ambition

we all need to find that inner child and appreciate ourselves more...if we do that it will be easier to appreciate others...and find contentment inside and out.

first line third stanza i read as "She's sensitive..."

really like this poem thematically...shows us ourselves.

You sjould take her out one day and follow her lead. Play hopscotch in the street, skip through a field, sing a happy song and finish it all off with a milkskake :)
Im sure both of you would be happier for it. Now, please excuse me, I have a new kite I need to go test out :)

I remember a training session at early part of my career from your poem.It indicated that every adult has a child inside and every child has an adult inside.
I love the great thoughts in your poem. You have an innocent child to play with.

Thanks for stopping by!
This one isn't a hard one to appreciate - just to live with.

Two see's in the same line... perhaps just She's sensitive...?

There is a sweet innocence to this write and yet I feel a little adult pain too. Often we are our own worst critics. As children, we are happy and free. It would be nice if we could accept ourselves as adults. On the surface, this is a simple write, but I find much to delve into between the lines. Lydi**
