A Poem by scratchingthesurface

Who found it best, to lay to rest

This heavy burden upon my chest

This dark of night, this sorrowful plight

Which tethers’ hold the songbirds’ flight

Long after the suns inviting light

Dipped the horizon, shimmering bright.

This burning fire in my breast

To find an answer for my quest

Considers each dawn another test

Another reason to do my best
