Before Me

Before Me

A Poem by Jesse F Hayes

Just lay down next to me

Let me hold you in this

I know you've seen more than a soul should see

My crystal bell witness

I will be blind

I will be deaf

To the sins of this broken man

Before me

Take your courage and lay it down

I promise you won't need it here

Just tell me you needed me

I'm always listening

I will be kind

I will be soft

To the fears of this perfect man

Before me

They all whisper you know I hear

The venom from her tongue

I've stood by you through it all

I'll always love you

I will stand tall

I will be brave

To the shadows of the man you were

Before me

Thats how it should be I think? If every man and woman in a relationship felt this way there would not be as much heartach. Great write!!! Thanks for sharing Jesse! Hows that leg of yours?

These lyrics describe a new girlfriend trying to come at peace with a boyfriends relationship past. I really enjoyed the feeling it made me feel. I enjoy it and its really beautiful. Like Jinx said I would love to hear music to it.
