Everything You've Got To Kill

Everything You've Got To Kill

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

I'm such a shade of yellow
That you don't need to be a man
When did it get so crowded?
I was holding both your hands
You said you had a dream last night
But there's never enough time
When you looked at me today you said
You could see your face in mine

I never could quite understand
The fault in my confusion
What I thought was solid under me
Has pitied my delusion
I want your story in my hands
I want to know you, too
You're right that everyone is lonely
Though, not everyone is doomed

Don't tell me that I'm pretty
For, I had no part in that
You can call me wonderful
That I won't reject
And if you say you'll never go
I'll laugh at your mistake
My heart's not yet made from steel
But it's still rather hard to break

I'd count my cards if I were you
I'll steal your money and your mind
And you'll go out on the streets tonight
And thank them for their time
Sometimes I think you're broken up
But I remember what I knew
It's me that's stealing all the stars
No, not everyone is doomed
