LiarsA Poem by jessfoundwonder
Time slips
I can hardly grasp the intangibility of it Hands run their fingers over me in circles Reviewing, moving forward I'd rather not be clarified Or concrete. I'm a liquid Hard to hold, unless you have a cup Made from wit and charm, make it deep Don't drink me all at once, though The sweet parts fade into an aftertaste That you'll probably regret And then that'll fade too For me, time washes my memory Recycles dirt, and leaves it yellow Bright with everything left I can only miss happiness, even if I live with a different shade And you, you were dark, painful And you ripped me in half I'm a not a liar, just a contradiction You couldn't want me And I certainly don't need you But you said pretty things, and smiled right Sometimes, when it's dark out I want to hold your hands
