What I Am

What I Am

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

See these feet, they never touch the ground;
I am a wonder in that way.
You asked me what I am, so here it is,
I wonder if i'm still as wonderful as you say.

I'm a lie, but I'm real, a contradiction at best
I'd much rather love, but I'm less than fearless
I float like cotton in the air, but not in the water
Water is heavy and limits press harder

I'd like to be brilliant, but age gets in the way
However different I want, I'm sadly the same
I think like a bird, but I act like a kite
Between the stars and the Earth, the wind holds me tight

The constant relativity haunts me at night
Wrapped up in a box, the truth's only half right
Maybe it's wrong, maybe everyone's wrong here
I'm sure of nothing, nothing but you, dear
