Wit and IntelligenceA Poem by jessfoundwonder
Heavy steps, unlike anything extraordinary
They cripple leaves, and leave me to watch over All the faint futures and cleverness Because dust measures time and I like to watch the world So tell me something dazzling I'd like to set my mind and heart on fire But it takes differences to light them One's easy, beautiful, superficial, temporary Another is complex and liquified Help me find a balance I've never had such an intellectual drive for this This body, these hands, I don't need them It's his mind that wonders me, it fills mine With new layers, as if to remind me of all there is And I think he could love me in a way no one else could But he's nothing of romance to me I simply am drawn to the way that his mind works He's such an extraordinary breed
