Catch Me

Catch Me

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

Who dances with dreamers? Tell me how they got there.
Beauty matched with wicked speed
Of the mind and of the feet
Split the strings and kill the medication
I'm not a puppet, but a child of inspiration

Naked love has lost its face
I don't know who I'm kidding
I could never be in love enough to keep me from repeating
All the flaws I carry now
I've learned a lot about
The things that no one mentions
I don't want your attention
I'd love to say I'm sorry, but this weight has kept me cold

So don't ever fall in love with me
I've heard I'm quite deceiving
It's a quality I love to take advantage of the easy
Lovers fall from all directions
And they throw up their affections
I don't ever wish to be romantic

However, the idea serves perplexion
What if I found the perfect imperfection?
Could the dreamers dance with me like that?
Maybe that's why I'm so uneasy
With what others find so pleasing
I just haven't had the heart to steal me yet
