Get Out of This City

Get Out of This City

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

I couldn't count all of the mistakes that started and ended with you if I tried.

You're that feeling that swallows me, like fire in dry places.

It burns and I scream and shiver in the center of the heat.

I hate you. I hate everything you are and stand for.

While everyone else was flying kites and dreaming big, you let your ego soar.

I wish you'd reel it in sometimes, because you could be a beautiful person.

I saw that side of you back when you were brave enough to let your guard down.

When you just sit and think, I see that same look in your eyes.

The look that you swear you've shaken. It's determined and confusing.

I hope someday you realize the mess you've put me in.

Thank God I finally understand how low you are how much more I deserve.

You find a path and travel far. You've so much more to learn.

Ooh...very relatable. I've seen many an ego rise up and hit it's head on the clouds before. A powerful storm of emotion flows through your ink. It's viable and reaches out with a hard grip.
When people like this touch my life, i've learned to grab the oars and start paddling in a new direction. Doesn't matter if they take the bigger ship, cause I know it's gonna sink.

Great Ink!
