You Had One Shot

You Had One Shot

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

What do you take yourself for, really?

Do you see a boy, dark hair, dark heart

Charming, but sad under the dreams that you've had

I can see that there's something beyond you

And I had come inches from your deepest secrets

And you felt insecure with my face in your heart

Your foot out the door

Quiet, our eyes met, then you left,

"I can't love you anymore."

And the time grew into marathons

I was so small then, but I've grown too, now

You've lost your pride, you want to be friends

But I said goodbye

Please leave me, just take them

I don't want your bad days
