Keep That Chin Up

Keep That Chin Up

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

The fire is so uninviting

Cower in fear at the feet of the beast

Hope that God can find you in

This desolate and frightning place

But that's what dreamed of all those nights

That's what you cried for, for him and

He broke you, and he left you,

Standing in the heat of this mess

But you're bigger, and you're still strong

Show the world that you can hold on

Hold on

Misery is a monster,

So many faces, how can you be sure?

It kills from the inside out

Like poison, now, don't fall down

If you do, I will save you

I could never watch you break

If the wind blows, and you're over

I'll run and find and fix your mistakes

And like a puzzle with missing pieces,

I'll put you back together the best that I can

And I'll stay with you forever

And I won't let go until you understand

That he's a lost cause

You're a fighter

You can't let him keep you under

You're still breathing

The world is still turning

He was never your best,

And you're still my angel, my hero

Even when you're feeling this low
