Sour-Sweet

Sour-Sweet

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

It's a honey type of situation

Sticky, sweet, you can't leave, but you don't want to

Good feeling hides everything but the smiles

And good times and laughs and it sweetens the past

I don't want to look up or let go of this love

I'm honest right now, but can't say I've always been

Honest, are you? Are you real or untrue?

How can you say goodbye when you know everything about me?

We're close but disguised

By the acts and the lies

They break us apart and fumble my heart

And it's you and it's me

We're both corrupt and naive

But the clock says it's time, we can't move on

We're locked up for good

Behind the place where we stood

Where we spill our guts out

And drank til we drowned

I am killing my words

Before they slip past my lips

Cause whoever is quiet

Automaticaly wins

When one of us breaks and admits our mistakes

Aloud for the world, well, I'm just a miserable girl,

And you're a miserable boy

It's so meant to be

But pride is so bold

And indiference is key

So cut the ties, lock your lips

We don't care, and nobody like us ever does
