Lockernotes

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

There's a note inside my locker and it's killing me to read it

But I'm afraid of what it says, of all the skeletons that breed it

You're my unsuspecting ghost, and I'm really better off

With you on the other side of the whole entire world

But I guess you can only go halfway before you come back closer

Have your run as far as you can get, only to find no other?

I'd love to trip and fall again, but my hands still hurt from last time

And I'd like to sit and cry again, but I'm really through with being down

And I don't know if you know this

But I put your candle under water, I hope you got the message

The one I sent right through the ocean,

But apparently you didn't because I found your note for me

And no one's that persistant

So here's goodbye and here's I'm sorry,

But our timing's old
