Come and Fly

Come and Fly

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

Stand, life is unrestrained.

A merry-go-round, I'll be the tiger,

Up and down, up and down,

Hold on now to me

We'll spin over the ground on the tips of our sneakers

Centrifugal love pulls the hair from our faces

Hold me so tight, we'll fall around if you slip under

You're grounded, you're steady, taste the world over

Up with the birds, eyes are all upon us

They're astonished, you know, there are no others like us,

Wave them goodbye, though, we're free from their fingertips

Gallop and run, as fast as you can manage

I love you, it's all and everything, reasoning

What more could there be? I am happy,

For once in a bad day, take me away,

Away, away, away, away

Come and fly.

I'm beginning to doubt that you are really only 15. This is a vivid and wonderful write. A random flurry of thoughts like two lovers at an outing to an outside carnival, or theme park. Your work I am beginning to really like. You have a uniqueness about you, a witty cleverness that I haven't seen in quite a while. I will admit that I see quite a bit of disparity from work to work. You must put more into some pieces than others.

Kudos Jess-Jess

If this weren't the internet, I'd applaud you. I must say, of all the poems I've reviewed tonight, this is my favourite so far!
It created such beautiful imagery for me. I could see the hair flipping in the wind, and the allegory of it being love that causes the force, that was simply breathtaking.
Love is such a wonderful topic to write and to read about. Yes, it has been written of many and many times over, yet it seems that in each incarnation it is as wonderful and ambrosial as the first.
I could see the lovers floating up, the spark within their hearts, the uniqueness of the honesty of their love.
Simply beautiful~ Thank you for reviving my hope in the poetry of today =D
