Mom & Dad

Mom & Dad

A Story by jessfoundwonder

Foolish miss, you stand with your candle

Don't you know the world's burnt out?

Go, or forever, die in vain,

You're inane if you feel content in these days

Haven't you sensed this spot of recolection,

You're blind to the obvious alarms and the episodes

Of unhappiness filling our lungs to our fingertips

All I want is for you to see how broken you are

I can't change my blood, ever connected to the both of you,

But, I hate to see you fall, all the time,

You live every hopeless day with hope for tomorrow

But in the end, no one can ever win,

In the fight against your fiction and your bad days,

This has to change, and I can't change it.

Please, don't keep us on this run away catastrophe

All we can pray is to get out alive.
