Where'd You Go?

Where'd You Go?

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

The breeze of freshman year swiftly blew on by,

I found myself, caught up in the beautiful chaos.

You left with the wind, there can't be an end to this story,

We stop being friends when we die, don't you remember?

It's hard to lie when I say we just grew apart, it's better this way.

Some people do that, it happens, I'm happy for your new friends,

But I'm wrong, and I'm scared, and it hurts that you're not there

And I need you like the sky needs stars to watch over the people down here.

The oldest pictures leak away the water that my eyes have held in.

Memories linger in our ever-frozen stares.

Life was so simple in those days, nothing to cry about then,

I miss you back when you still knew me.

Where'd you go, my hero?
