Ah

Ah

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

A casual smile and "Good day to you, sir"

You're like a stranger to me now.

The corners of you mouth turn to face the sky

You say, "I haven't seen you in a long time."

"Ha, funny how that works out, when you leave."

You laugh like you did.

Have you changed a bit, I wonder.

Then the part I was expecting not to hear from your lips

"I miss you dear, it's like the night without you."

Ah. Glad you feel it.

"So you're just like me then?"

And you fall into your memories.

And I can't accept you for what you are.

I love you to the moon and back, but

I hate you underneath my skin.

And that closer.

Very good.. hard to believe someone so young wrote this..I know young people have deep thoughts just .. that not a lot of them express them as well as you have.. I loved the casual style of conversation it works really well , you are talented.

I liked this a lot. It was original, and expressive without "telling," and had character within its style. Props

I like this piece it's good different but good I've never read a poem with actual quotation marks in it but poetry doesn't have a certain rubric you must follow so it works and it's different.
