I can't change you.

I can't change you.

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

You're like watching the stars fall away

Where has your smile run to?

They've got you by your arms and legs

Weaving you in their embrace

You wandered in and slowly changed

Now there's nothing I can do

Do you know how long it's been

Since we didn't share the world?

All the hours of memories

Forgotten by you and me

But I'm trying to remember

As you're trying to forget

And you ignore me, ever so

I miss yourself, don't throw your life away

The opening lines are excellent, and it just gets better from there. Excellent job.

We can influence others, but they need to want to be influenced. Love, patience, persistence, tolerance, understanding are all necessary. This expresses a feeling we've all had. Some are better left alone although I'd never say to lose all contact. I often wonder where my first love is and where my first wife is... or even my second wife. I've had no contact with them for so many years that i could never find them again. Last spoke with my first wife 39 years ago. I hope she's still OK.

This is a heartfelt and well penned piece. learn to be at peace and move on.

Thanks for sharing.
