Hardly a lullaby

Hardly a lullaby

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

Alabama rolls along,

The streets unpaved and faded

Half the story's been misplaced now

With memories tagged and jaded

I do recall your warm, bright smile

All for me in the golden summer

Our fairty tale was twisted and disguised

With undeniable good times

But the clock struck September

And we were flying

Out of the real and too far to reach

As you would imagine

I touched Alabama

Rock hard and unwilling

Your name became routine

But out of confines of my own head, now

I figured out you out of my mental frame

Try breathing your suitcase

That's all for me now

Wave me goodbye, love

I'm on my way
