The Life And Times Of 03/13/09

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

You're a stranger to mixed tapes

And familiar to mistakes

How are you so unbearable?

The soft lies that bind you

The fame that enfolds you

We used to love before you got too cool

Take a look at your records spinning,

I taste it, it shakes me

When you're up so high you're bound to fall

To the ground, to the ground

Your smile reads like a locked diary

Secrets just beyond my reach

I wish I could learn you inside out

But you never would let me

Starry faces, they surround you

And you aknowlege them with pride

And I loved you, but you forgot me

I'm fixing, running to find mine

Very good.

Good stuff! Well done this has engaging content and is well put down. Like a lot of poetry, especially poetry from when i first started writing, this has it's true meaning hidden and blurred between the phrases. To me it is a riddle, or perhaps I'm just rubbish at understanding stuff. Anyway, you seem to have raw talent by the looks of it :) I would suggest putting some more definate punctuation in, if only so I know when the poem finishes.
Keep well,
Jaff
