How to Survive

How to Survive

A Poem by jessie avery

I know you
you only want for the sake of having
and you only breath for the sake of surviving

every inhale should fill you with glitter and wonder
every exhale with the insistence of an alarm clock
alerting every soul and spirit that you are
here

and no
your 'here' is not to be limited like they want you to believe

like the fiery depths of your passions and fears
and the explosive expansiveness of the songs you love and your laughter

your 'here' is not to be confined
your body not to be loathed
and your spirit not to be dampened by the saliva of those who don't believe in the stars in your eyes

I think that it is a beautiful poem written to touch on the very fabric of our existence as humans.

While speaking this to myself, I did have to stop and reread portions of the sentences because the words contained felt abstract to actual purpose of the poem. (EX: saliva)

Overall, beautiful none-the-less; I'll go 90/100

Also, if you could return the favor by reviewing something from my account? Given this work, I recommend the philosophy that I am only now deciding to post, but reviews of anything will be helpful as well as sorely required.
