when two worlds meet after a great storm.

Chapter One

Storm

The wind howled and screeched, the birds fluttered to and fro. People ran for shelter as the cold rain came crashing down; as hard as pebble stones, peltering everyone and everything on its path.

The wooden huts the villagers once lived in fell down with a mighty clang, their worldly possessions were being thrown all around as if they were weightless feathers yet landed with a shuddering thump. Children and the elderly ones that were ushered into the shelter first, could hear the tremendous, painful cries of those above who had not yet made it to the shelters.

The whole village was praying for help and forgiveness as was their custom.

“Please God; forgive us that we may survive.” pleaded the villagers.

The wind kept howling and the once beautiful Village was in ruin. What a beautiful village it was, the sun was always shining and there was laughter of little ones, there was a peace among the people, the sun would kiss their faces giving them a warm healthy glow. The village was like that of a paradise until this tragedy befell them.

The people's precious belongings were still being tossed around like a boat at sea, shredded to no recognition within seconds. The life-giving crops were ripped from the ground; A hurricane was forming making a howl above the sheltered people, residents were anxious about the loved ones and friends who may still be above ground.

The ground began to shake, an experience they had never felt before, Children were clinging and hugging the adults in the shelter scared of the outcome that lay ahead. There was a small lit lantern in the shelter which was a main source of heat and light for the villagers that were huddled around it. There was enough food in the shelter for these 50 villagers for a few days.

The villagers were not sure when this storm would pass, the sound of the damage and howls above was too much for some of the sheltered villagers.

Two

Findings.

The very next day, there was silence as the villagers awoke and many started to crawl from the shelters, to see the devastating ruin of the village, Holaygav. People were in tears as this has never been witnessed before. People were anxiously looking for lost family and friends in the rubble, some people even found their pets and greeted them with a warm embrace, Happiness was lost in Holaygav, though there was some light in the turmoil as some loved ones were found.

The People were desperately trying to clean the village from the blasting storm and searching in the rubble for people, the Chief and his friends came across something on their search that they had never laid eyes on before.

“Get back!” he exclaimed. -translated

“(Ach nich neesha keeva)”

Chief Myolik crept closer with some of his helpers.

“It seems too be some sort of contraption...I saw it fly from the sky, I think it may be some sort of animal.” explained the Chief.

We know all the flying creatures in Holaygav” stated the young one Mikalo.

“What kind of bird would it be? It's so big and has strange markings all over it...and I see something inside it.” Said Mikalo.

So, the chief and Mikalo start to cautiously make their way around the fuselage of the aircraft, they run their hands along the inscriptions, and curiously tap their fingers on the glass of the windows. They look at each other and chuckle to themselves with excitement on their find, upon reaching the nose of the aircraft, Chief Myolik is startled by the gasping of Mickalo.

“What is It?” Demanded Myolik

“There are men in there!” exclaimed Mickalo

“Inside this...This... Giant monsters...eyes!”  he explained.

Jamano another of the Chiefs helpers rush towards the other two men. And asks

Chief what is this?”

“Have we found beings from somewhere else?” Asked Jamano.

“Is this a chariot of the Gods? Are these men prophets from the God beyond the clouds?” Asked Jamano

The chief motions with his hands to Jamano to calm himself and then asks him to bring the medicine man from the village to help these beings inside the ‘great bird’.

Jamano runs towards the East to find the medicine man, meanwhile the Chief reassures the villagers that all will be ok.

Jamano returns with Bobias the medicine man by his side, Bobias takes a shocked look at this ‘bird’ he takes a stroll around the aircraft, which he notices at the far side of its body it has been torn wide open, so he naturally enters the gaping hole in the side of the ‘Great Bird’.

Bobias makes his way through the belly of the ‘bird” up to the front where the pilots are sitting slumped over.

“One man had left his earthly path, and only his shell remains” says Bobias to the Chief, as he closes the man's eyes and closes his cold hands over his motionless chest.

As Bobias looks at the other man, he calls out to the chief “This is a spirit man...and he lives!”

“He needs to heal; I need to bring him to the village!” explained Bobias.

Bobias along with Jamanos help carry the spirit man out of the ‘bird’ and begin the journey back to the village hospital, or what's left of it.

On return to the village there are many waiting and watching as the spirit man is carried into the hut.

“What is this?”- (deev me reto)” many call out to the chief, who only responds with raising his hands, asking for people's silence.

The two men tend to the Spirit man's wounds in the hut.

As the Spirit man ducks in and out of consciousness, he notices the smell of wood smoke and chanting as his wounds are dressed. He feels the swirling intoxication in his mind from this smoke that the healing man and medicine man are wafting at him.

‘Spirit’ awaken.

Weeks pass and the villagers are still working hard to restore the village to its pre-storm state. Meanwhile Bobias' daughter was growing curious about the man found inside the ‘giant bird’. While Bobias leaves the medicine hut Forbiah finds an opportunity to sneak into the hut, know Forbiah has never been allowed to enter this hut of her fathers, it's out of bounds to Villagers unless in a medical emergency, as she enters, she hears silence and the slow bubbling of water boiling, the room was lightly lit with a few lanterns flickering their flames nearby, the smell was that of warm sage and some sweet smell of the local winf berries that were pink in colour and very analgesic great for healing they tasted of mild vanilla, she grabbed a winf berry and ate one. She looks for the man in the room, and there he was lying on a wooden cot bed in a hand-woven blanket by the local women who were more than happy to help. As she approaches this man of pale colour she sees his lips are very dry. Forbiah dips her fingers into water that’s in a clay bowl beside the bed and touches them to the ‘spirit man's lips and to her surprise his eyes open.

Forbiah pulls her hand away in shock, as the man tries to sit up. He struggles for a few moments, until forbiah helps him pull himself upright. The spirit man speaks but Forbiah finds his words strange, the man realizes quickly no one understands him. Forbiah tilts her head in confusion as she tries to imagine what he may be saying. Forbiah was mesmorised by his eye colour for she had never seen green eyes before, Forbiah points to herself and speaks slowly

“For-biah.”

In return the spirit man painfully lifts his arm which is wrapped in a bandage and puts his palm on his chest and announces his name.

My name is...Jace”

There is a pause and then a smile between these two people.

Just then Forbiah jumps up and run from the hut in excitement yelling

“Father!(yindoo)...Father!(yindoo)”.

Bobias hears Forbiahs yelling and rushes across the village square to see what the matter was. Upon entering the healing hut Bobias sees the spirit man awake and sitting upright. Bobias sits next to the spirit man, and with awe studies his unusual hair colour and strange eyes. He excitedly asks the man where he is from and how he got here, as Jace starts to ask what is happening and where he is they both realize the words being spoken to each other are not being understood. Bobias looks perplexed and says to Jamano who entered

“It seems he does not speak Hoomsunka.”

Bobias sees Forbiah by the tent entrance listening and summons her to go get Chief Myolik and tell him the spirit man has awoken and is trying to communicate. Chief Myolik comes at once and comes through the hut entrance and with wide eyes sees this uncommon looking man awake. The chief sits quietly in the hut for a while and with one hand on his scepter thinking, then tells Bobias and Jamano

“keep him here until we find what to do with the invader.”
