babyA Poem by jess foremanHow precious babies are
The eyes of a baby
What do they see? What do they recognise? It hears my voice and feels consoled The eyes of a baby Hold all future unwritten Hold the power to change I hold his hand he smiles If I peer deep into the eyes I see fear, love, anger, hunger, I see suprise, happiness and relief The ears of a baby What do they hear? How do they recognize? He hears me sing and falls to sleep The ears of a baby Hear everything Hear the unheard I lift him in the air he giggles The skin of a baby What does it feel? Why so soft? Skin of a baby Is smooth and unblemished Clean and not yet soiled I kiss baby's cheek and he feels content All babies need love and care They are precious but not rare Take time to nurture, love and listen to baby They are new and easily molded Make sure they don't end up scalded Treat baby with TLC Not like a car that needs its MOT Never let his eyes, ears or skin become something of sin. Keep him healthy and you won't have to think grim. Enjoy parenthood When you get old they will help you for the good. Take her to the swings but keep her away from certain things. Treat her to sweets, as long as she eats her meats. Baby's are only babies for a short time, Make sure they grow up to be just fine. Like mine :) © 2014 jess foreman |
