A Tender Heart

A Tender Heart

A Poem by Jeff

On an emerald lake, beneath a starlit night, we ride on a wooden boat.

A gentle breeze blows into your hair that flows over your eyes.

You don't seem to be bothered as you slide deeper into a state of pure happiness.

I can't help but smile, the way I see your life set out for you.

I look up, thinking how wonderful it must be to be like you.

But I think how wonderful it is just to be with you.

Your angelic eyes captivate my dreams, touching my heart beyond words.

I can't think of how I ever fell for you,

but I know it was truly one of the best things that has happened.

Lady luck has hit the jackpot this time.

Love is a fancy thing.

It strikes those who believe they can't be loved or shall never love another.

It heals those who need it the most.

But most of all love has given me a tenderness inside

that blooms with every moment I am with you.

This is incredibly sweet and romantic. I believe love heals those who need it most, also. You said it eloquently and the simplicity of your words somehow makes the poem even stronger.
